A brand-new, modern apartment building in Long Island City has opened 35 affordable lottery units for qualified tenants. Applications for this new housing opportunity at 2222 Jackson Avenue can be made through the NYC Housing Connect site. The deadline is Nov. 6, 2016.
The units include studios (10 units); 1-bedroom units (16); 2-bedroom units (6) and 3-bedroom units (3 available.) These 35 affordable units are among the 175 total units in the new rental development that is directly across from MoMA PS. This slick new building showcases a 2-story lobby, furnished lounge with wi-fi, library, gym, indoor pool and landscaped courtyard and roof deck.
Income requirements are noted here and in the graphic above, ranging from $29,143 for a single person seeking a studio all the way up to a maximum of $63,060 for a family of six seeking a 3-bedroom unit. The units are neat and modern in styling. A penthouse unit had been the only available unit for rent in early September 2016, with a no-fee rental rate of $3,185 per month.
