Hamptons Homeowners Insurance - Any large firms providing it?

Anyone have any suggestions for homeowners insurance? Very few if any of the large insurers offer policies to buyers in the Hamptons. They are willing to renew existing policies but otherwise they fear the great hurricane is coming and don't want to add to their current exposure. Any larger companies you're aware of would be enormously appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone else care to weigh in on who their carriers are? Liberty Mutual just dropped me because I'm down the street from the bay in East Hampton.
In my very recent experience, none of the major insurance companies will insure in the Hamptons. The only exception might be if you have a home in NYC too. Then they might consider insuring both properties. You may need to work through an insurance broker to get a policy. It's really unbelievable how difficult it has become to get home owner's insurance.
I have Chubb Very Expensive, but I did get it.. If you have a buried oil tank NO One will take you, you must remove it first!!!!
I just got off the phone with Nationwide, and after checking my background, SSN#, history, etc., not only will they cover me, they are almost half of what I would be paying to renew my Farmers. I guess the bad economy, as well as a couple of mild hurricane seasons in a row, has opened the floodgates of competition again on the East End...
