I recently purchased a modest house in EH, and am looking for a relatively inexpensive/ moderate quality sound system for indoor & outdoor deck/ pool area. Does anyone have any recommendations?
No, because people who use outdoor sound systems are selfish, rude and uneducated people who have no consideration for others. Go read a book, if you can.
Lkgsoh, you are obviously the uneducated one. The whole reason for doing this is so that one does NOT need to play music loud to be able to hear/ appreciate it & disturb their neighbors. This is exactly why considerate people do invest to set things up correctly instead of bringing their ghetto blaster to the pool and cranking it on high. Seems you need to read a book... on acoustics...
I am unable to read books in my backyard because of the SOPHISTICATED and EXPENSIVE sound system of my neighbors which plays Sirius Hits One ALL DAY LONG. If you think that your neighbors can't hear the BOOM BOOM of your bass because you have "invested to set thing up correctly" then you are an IDIOT. But you wouldn't know you are an idiot because you CAN'T HEAR YOURSELF THINK OVER THE MUSIC. BOOM BOOM.
People usually get what they deserve in life. I hope I'm invited to that pool party this summer so I can crank it UP UP UP! Maybe you should take their hint as they are probably pointing their speakers in your direction because they want you to MOVE MOVE MOVE. Have a nice summer :)
See I was right about you.
BOOM BOOM say what?
Sonos is a great product. I would use that w/ outdoor rated speakers hooked up to a traditional interior home theater setup. If you want to get a little fancier, you can look at a Nuvo system.
Thank you Matt
sonos is decent...
but if you want good quality just call a professional company like systems design to really wire it up
I like Sonos, have used it in renovations and new construction. Regarding LKGSoh's comments...good fences make good neighbors. Unfortunately, unless you can afford to buy all the land around you, all you can do is close your eyes and pray for the best
I know countless people who are bothered by neighbors with pools who do not realize (or care) that their sound systems are bothering others. I think you need a large yard for this and some attempt at sound insulation.
