Long before the Hoboken waterfront condos, apartments, Starbucks, & chic restaurants, Hoboken was mainly a shipping & industrial town. I recall visiting Hoboken in the 1980’s and seeing the remnants of the shipping era. Bars like Maxwell's Bar & Restaurant on 11th & Washington St. which are currently filled with people interested in the local music scene were once filled with longshoremen after a day on the docks.

As part of the Hoboken redevelopment in the 1990’s, the Shipyard was transformed into waterfront residential apartments, commercial space, Shipyard Marina, & one luxury Hoboken condo building, 2 Constitution Court.
