Cobble Hill
Cobble Hill blends in seamlessly with Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens with its combination of the new and the old. Classic brownstone facades, Italian meat markets and mom-and-pop shops neighbor boutique retailers and “Restaurant Row” on Smith Street. Gothic Revival, Greek Revival and Italianate architecture and three to four story row houses dominate Cobble Hill real estate. The neighborhood is considered one of the safest in the city with an easy commute to Manhattan. Traditionally community oriented, Cobble Hill is slowly moving away from its hometown atmosphere due to rising real estate prices and cooperative conversion. The neighborhood still maintains its character, though, and residents can frequently be found at the taking strolls down Cobble Hill’s leafy streets.
