All Downtown is the diverse southern half of Manhattan. From Chelsea to Chinatown and Financial District to East Village, downtown Manhattan has a range of lifestyles and real estate options from the affordable to the luxurious. Numerous subway lines allow for easy transportation within downtown Manhattan, allowing residents to easily work in Midtown and workers to easily commute from other boroughs. Neighborhoods in downtown Manhattan tend to have distinct reputations, with Greenwich Village defined by New York University, SoHo defined by the ridiculously fashionable and Chinatown defined by the Chinese. There is a place for everybody in downtown Manhattan- although not everybody can afford it.
