Built in 1929
Turtle Bay Towers was built in 1929 as a NYC design School and was briefly converted to a print factory. In 1979 this “award-winning” conversion of a twenty-six-story building into 337 luxury apartments followed a huge gas explosion that blew out a large section of its brick façade from the street level to the top floor. The apartments feature 12-14 ft ceilings and some apartments offer Midtown and East River views. The building is a condop (coop with condo rules), and allows for investor and is pet friendly. The building has a large renovated lobby with two sitting areas and a roof top terrace.
