Discussion about 211 Elizabeth Street in Nolita

Anyone know what's been going on here? Per the website, looks like a few in contract, and last I walked by, lots of progress on construction. Just curious what'll happen here - it's a prime spot and a prime building (from the looks of it) but of course asking prices were/are pretty nutty.

Those prices were nutty even by 2007 standards. $2000/ft to live in Nolita is as u described. I'd love to know if their offering plan allows them to cut prices or if they'll have to pay closing costs. However covering closing costs won't cover the gap between fair price and list prices.

beautiful building very curious how things will turn out here as well. My guess is many buyers will have issues finding jumbo loan financing in this market...

maitenance is expensive here, too...

re: 211 Elizabeth - can anyone tell me why these listings don't show up on SE? The listing agent for the development is Stribling, and their listings do show up here in other circumstances?

Any input appreciated.

Liquidpaper: I was wondering the same thing. And according to the official 211 website there is still availability in the building. But I feel as if it hasn't been updated in a while. Any news on sales or openings in the building? And any word on what the penthouse will go for?

There are now up. http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/building/211-elizabeth-street-new_york

Beautiful building. Crazy expensive per foot and the doorman for such few units means high common charges.

One of my favorite new construction projects in terms of aesthetics though. They did a bang-up job and in person it really lives up.

i agree...awesome place...it was more awesome when all the stores will filled and shoppers lined the streets. unfortunately, we are in the midst of a downturn and this is one of those areas that is getting killed. i want to live there, but the reality of the day is that nolita is losing her pusle.

Does anyone know what is going on with this building?
I really love everything about it, location, esthetics, all except for the prices, of course.
It looks like the earlier "contract signed" listings are almost all gone, what happened? Nothing closed, does it mean it will go rental?

uhm...did they only sell a few units? what's going on with this place?

I have to assume that they have no intention of going rental here. They seem comfortable with the relatively slow pace of sales. I'd love to see prices cut in half, but there's really no way that happens, I think.

I went to the open house here today. Nice units but small. They have that "new old" look done earlier by the Bowery Hotel, though "darker", lots of black finishes and trim. In fact, I'd say the suite I stayed in at the Bowery Hotel was about the size of a 1 bedroom here.

Great neighborhood but I don't see the value at these prices. The doorman told me two residents had moved in and that the penthouse was sold, FWIW.

Oh rat! I completely forgot about the open house. I wanted to check out the place. Is it finished inside?

Seemed finished. Lobby was all done, all black. Open house was a 6th floor 2 bedroom model apartment that was furnished.

Thanks. The prices are all the way up there, but it's really a lovely building and a great neighborhood. In the category of 'if I ever win the lottery."
