Would buyers consider renting for 1,2,3 years before settling on a location?

Hi there. We've posted in the rental discussion area about our apartment that is for rent at 50 West 67th street 3GH. Since we are not ready to sell at this point I am wondering if any of you potential buyers out there would be interested in renting to see if you like a particular location or not. I would guess this would be new comers to the city primarily. What do you think?
every few months you wonder why hasn't my wonderful 3 bd rented yet?, it's the market, nothing personal... and pls don't buy into your RE broker's BS about someone renting your unit and falling in love and willing to pay for anything you ask in 3 yrs.... they probably will realize they like the location but don't like the little quirks of your specific unit and look at some other units that are priced right in 3 years....
one other prediction, the bottom will be in in NYC RE when combined units are worth more broken up.... that also goes for rentals... just give me credit when this shitstorm passes.... that will be final capitulation.... breaking up the ridiculous combos..... yep yep just wait...
I hear ya w67thstreet. We were just about to combine and are so happy we were able to stop just when we did. Now we have a really nice two bedroom to live in (yes, still love our 3 bedroom) our issue is that we love Manhattan and still aren't sure if we want to raise our family in Manhattan or Florida. We feel lucky we have options, we feel really bad (who wouldn't) that our apartment hasn't rented. Maybe it will maybe it won't. Happy 4th to you..
