I'm suggesting a letter writing campaign to keep Jim Cramer off CNBC. Who's in? Stevejhx?

it is his program -- you may not like bill maher -- but it is foolish to pull him off of politically incorrect. if you don't like Cramer == watch another show.

well at least they got rid of the guy on CNBC that looked like Beaker

Who did CNBC get rid of? Ratigan? They didn't get rid of him. They put him on MSNBC.

I stopped watching Cramer a thousand years ago. Dennis Kneale is the biggest a**hole around. Ratigan was the only decent with (along with Steve Leisman) but I've never seen his MSNBC show.

larry kudlow is ok in small doses.

You would like L.K., Riversider: Ayn Rand Lives!

you were expecting Rachel Maddow?

I'd like to see Michael Moore on CNBC.

But Abby Cohen a bigger strapon, that should keep him busy for awhile.

How about if we just keep him off for a day?? Who wants to help? Stevejhx?

How about just Monday, anyone want to help? Stevejhx?

i've never, ever watched him except for clips linked elsewhere. couldn't stomach it.

wait, i lie, i watched the jon stewart cramer show. pitiful.

topper, we're taking the kid to see capitalism tomorrow. should be interesting. although perhaps not as interesting as abby's strap on.

A Love Story

A friend of mine used to work for him. S/he quit - he's too frenetic.

Ok so lets start the campaign today, and I'm betting we can get him off the air tomorrow.

Why don't you just stop watching teevee instead?

That is a fair question alanhart, but that would mean that they win and I don't win. Monday. Mark my words. I'm going to send some letters and make sure he isn't on the air. Anyone else want to join me? Stevejhx?

If CNBC were smart, they would start to cut back Crammer's time to try to make what he says "special" again. Right now, he is so over-exposed that his entertainment / investment advice value has dropped dramatically.

CNBC gave Cramer a bull market contract.

He's a good deal responsible for the excesses of the mid 00s. Pumping Google for instance. He'd calculate forward estimated earnings and just shove a large multiple on it and then write the number on his knuckles or forehead. As if Google at $500 today isn't a well valued company 3 years later, he was pumping it to $700 3 years ago. No fundamental understanding of their value to the online advertising market.

Similarly, Doctor UNH, pumping Eddie Lampert's Sears Holdings, Bear isn't going down, shall we go on?

Now he has shows dedicated to why he's not expected to be right all the time. Except it isn't right or wrong. He's pumping. He needs to understand that people listen to him and then he creates mania. He creates mania.

CNBC gave Cramer a bull market contract.
hmm, so Larence Yun, might actually be a good economist.

CNBC is in business to sell toothpaste ads. Jim Cramer does just that.

End of story.

So, seriously, no one wants to join me to get him off for just a day? Monday. Anyone? Stevejhx?

what the problem with him? he says we dont need "financial professionals?"

If you don't like him , turn him off. CNBC is all about ratings. End of Story.

i think Cramer is entertaining. used to a big fan of LK, but he's too bullish. jim Rogers is all around favorite.

Jim Cramer can be very entertaining , especially when he's hit with stupid questions.

I mean Jim Rogers

Has anyone quantified Cramer's track record? I know everyone loves to hate him, but some of his general advice is not totally off track. I remember when he was plugging Eaton last fall when it was what, in the $30's? He had the CEO on, everything looked really dire and heavy equipment seemed like the worst possible investment - even after this week's downturn, Eaton is in the $50's. Wasn't a totally bad steer. No one is right all the time.

Barron's quantified Cramer in an article last year. I hate the guy, but he didnt come out too bad.

The reccomendations change so frequently it becomes meaningless.

So, none of you want to join me in trying to get him off the air just for tomorrow? Not even stevejhx?

ok, well, remember, if he's not on tomorrow live or they have a repeat, I'm taking all of the credit.

urnfa, what's your specific beef with Cramer other than that he may be annoying? I think he would be the first to acknowledge that his first job is to entertain...

If you actually read his books or watched his shows and not just his stock picks, you might think otherwise.

If you actually followed him at a macro level:
1) You have known about the credit crisis way in advance.
2) You would have bought stocks at the low in march 2009

If you're going to talk about individual stocks,
a) you wouldn't know half the stocks he knows
b) you wouldn't know enough to have a view on half the ones you did know
c) you wouldn't have the balls to put yourself out there to have a view

When you've made enough money that you really don't need to work,
then please get back to us.

Yes, in order to have a DAILY show, he's got to make calls on a lot of stocks.
And yes, things change daily/weekly.

So did I win? Did I get him off the air Monday?

Can anyone confirm? I was occupied during that time period. I want to know if I was successful!
Thanks

Yes, urnfna, you and Jimmy are both good, highly observant Jews. Pat yourselves on the back.

WHAT? Has nothing to do with anything but my letter writing campaign.
I got it done this year.
Stevejhx was the guy who got it done last year.

urnfna, have you been waiting all year for that one? was it marked on your year-at-a-glance, right above or below the dental appointment? such focus.

It was the first thing he thought of upon awakening each day for the past 11+ months, and the last thing he thought of after saying The Lord's Prayer.

I'm beginning to think that of the two, only Jimmy is a good, observant Jew.

urnfna is probably The Goat.

aboutready, basically correct except I go to the dentist more than once a year.
alanhart, what is the goat?

I'll take Cramer over Dennis Beale..

Attorney General of California Jerry Brown asks Dennis Kneale and Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, "Are you pimping for (State Street Bank) the defendant?"
