We had many bad experiences with the landlord of this building over the course of the several years that we lived there. He lives in the duplex downstairs and does not really think of his tenants as tenants but rather as paying guests in his house. He has no respect for his tenants' privacy (he and his wife entered our apartment on several occasions without notice or a good reason for entering).... [more]

We had many bad experiences with the landlord of this building over the course of the several years that we lived there. He lives in the duplex downstairs and does not really think of his tenants as tenants but rather as paying guests in his house. He has no respect for his tenants' privacy (he and his wife entered our apartment on several occasions without notice or a good reason for entering). He constantly tried to charge us and other tenants for problems with the apartment that we did not cause. Our problems culminated with his failure to return our security deposit after we moved out, even though the apartment was left in perfect condition. We sued him in Small Claims Court and won. He refused to pay the judgment until we froze his bank account. Avoid renting here at all costs. There are far better options in this neighborhood, and if they cost $100 more a month, it's money well spent. [less]
