I went to www.insideschools.org and read the comments posted there regarding PS 116. It seems there was serious disagreement on the work performance and responsiveness of their Principal Jane Hsu. Any input will be greatly appreciated as I'm thinking about buying an apt zoned for this school.
inside schools is only a feedback of parent. to see how a school permorms, it's better go to www.schooldigger.com.
i've seen many failing schools get fantastic reviews on inside schools, just to see that they are being "broken up" by the board of ed.
Thanks very much ab_11218. I usually just saw good comments on inside schools, and it concerns me when I saw those posts about PS 116 which are clearly not flattering.
there are two new schools being built right now in midtown east, one at 57th and first and the other at 35th and first (obviously very close to 116's location). there will be significantly more spots (although the displaced students will be returning to 57th street). i don't know how it will affect zoning but i wouldn't presume that an apartment currently zoned for 116 will necessarily be zoned that way in the next couple of years.
