http://streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/654479-condo-1-east-62nd-street-lenox-hill-new-york If you saw this apartment in her documentary "A Piece of Work" and couldn't decipher the layout, all is revealed. There're plans from when the house was split up in the 1930s, and a set in the condo declaration, but both omit the PH.

More background in today's paper: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/12/nyregion/for-joan-rivers-role-on-condo-board-a-serious-matter.html

Her best line: "It's how Marie Antoinette would've lived, had she had money."

I kind of love it. Also rent "A Piece of Work", quite an interesting film on this controversial, hard working and very sensitive woman.

Joan actually had a role in a pure drama "The Swimmer" with Burt Lancaster. This was one of those film gems that few people saw.

It's funny--I'm never a fan of fussy, over-the-top Louis-style decor BUT this one just works on so many levels. The super-high ceilings help, of course...

In all honesty, how much would this place cost to make look "normal" or more
modern.

You mean rip the panelling out or paint it landlord-white? Anybody who wanted sheetrock would most likely buy a new-construction place instead.

Sure, paint it white if you plan to turn it into a bank. Given the debutantes who come from abroad with much cash; I picture walls of velvet. For starters.

If she sells it to Bruce Jenner no one in the building will know she moved.

Good morning Ms. Rivers.

My name is Jenner! Bruce Jenner! I won the the decathlon, I married a Kardasian, I am the strongest bravest man you will ever know!

That Joan Rivers is so funny...always tweeting her act, what a professional. Jenner...how funny.
