You should go to Bedbugger.com if you haven't already. They have a wealth of info and forums to help you. Its a great site
Yes - definitely check out bedbugger.com. I've gone there many times as a paranoid NYer to have my nerves calmed by experienced, knowledgeable folks. False positives are quite common - including ones by Roscoe.

Diatomacoeous earth -- look it up on the internet. I had bedbugs -- the most hideous experience in my life. They got behind my expensive wood paneling the bedroom, had to rip it all out. Then discovered the diatomacoues earth, it was incredible. They were gone in a week. A lot like using boric acid for roaches. And when using it, don't put huge amounts of it down, only a fine amount. In fact, you can mix it 1/2 with water and spray it. You'll see a fine white powder line, and this kills them dead. Good luck, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
I'm with clsm. I'm a paranoid NYer - especially after one of my friend's got them after going on vacation.
I agree with Riccardo65. Had a problem a couple years ago that was treated twice by the professionals. When the problem re-emerged, I gave food-grade diatomacoeous earth a try and haven't had a problem since. Its a simple concept. The powder is not harmful to humans, but it causes holes to form in the shells of the bugs which makes them dry out and die. We powdered the floor of our bedroom and mattress, went away for a day, came back, vacuumed it up and the problem was gone. Now, we sprinkle it occassionally around our bed and between the mattress and boxspring as a preventative measure.
