Whenever a pitcher throws a no hitter several things take place, One is great pitching, one is great fielding and the other is some good breaks. The ball that Beltran hit was fair but it was called foul therefore it is in fact a no hitter.

The America, is your concern for the integrity of the game, or that these Mets, (who some thought would win 40 games this year), are about to beat up on your Yankees next weekend? Here's a deal for ya...you give back the Jeffery Maier game and the steroid-driven "championships," and then we can talk about how many hits the Cards got. @Truth - nicely done, but was thinking more-
"Keep on dancin'
Ooh you got to get it
You got to give it up...." (Marvin Gaye)
Thanks,Spartacus.
Those lyrics are also good. My theory is that there are songs/song lyrics for everything.
and I don't know much about baseball.

The Mets certainly got a break but it's about time they finally got a no-hitter. I saw Darryl Kile (the late Darryl Kile, whose number was also 57) pitch one against them back during the miserable 1993 season. This was back when Bobby Bonilla was putting earplugs in to drown out the boos and the team was losing 106 games.
Is 50 years without a no-hitter a record? The Chicago Cubs, no strangers to negative records, haven't had a no-hitter pitched *against* them since Sandy Koufax in 1965. That's pretty impressive.

Would be good to get a Streeteasy chat happening during a mets game at http://www.LiveBaseballChat.com/Fan/Mets
Sign up an account and post here for a game time you want to meetup (or post your acocunt so you can setup buddylists with alerts).
