A friend's building did and save some money, but not sure about how much.
Did any one conduct a cost comparison? Any government/coned incentives of doing so?
Did your friend say how much it cost the building?
It's costing our building about $100K.
the friend doesn't know the exact cost, just know it's cheaper
matt, is it a good investment for your building?
The city is gradually disallowing use of the #6 oil many buildings burn: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/air/buildings_heating_oil.shtml
Apparently it's not much bigger a deal to convert to natural gas, if you're replacing the burner anyway. Problem is sometimes a not-big-enough-pipe from the street, since those were originally sized just to supply however many gas stoves.
Look into dual fuel (#2 oil and natural gas), to give you flexibility as commodities prices fluctuate.
