In the process of buying a place off Columbus Ave, very close to Wise Towers and a few other Housing projects. Otherwise a great block and location, a door man indicated that there is some police activity on the Housing block some times. Wondering if this will impact rentability and/ or resale of the unit. Any thoughts on the neighborhood in general or feedback on experience with the housing projects?

Right now, I wouldn't feel comfortable about seeing my little sister living there. Just my opinion of course.
99.9% safe area, even in Stephen Wise Towers.
The only projects that tend to be difficult are enormous clusters of housing project buildings, managed as one huge clump.
Many of the other buildings around there that appear to be low-income housing projects are actually middle-income housing projects, and no problem at all.
I would do the only thing that makes sense....take a walk around midnight or so on a weekday +/- few blocks of where you want to buy.

The reason I ask is, I' have walked past the Wise Tower buildings around 11 pm. Eerily quiet. Noone around outside.
I know what it would seem like but has anyone had experience with this specific area? Maybe it is a center for seniors...? I cant seem to find any information online. The immediate neighborhood is clean and has beautiful buildings, a temple, church and many private schools such as Trinity.
