NYC neighborhoods don’t get much hotter than Nolita. It’s a shopping wonderland, it’s full of amazing restaurants, and its location just north of Little Italy (hence the name!) means that it borders many more of downtown’s most desirable ares, like SoHo and Greenwich Village. It’s no surprise that real estate listings here would be in hot demand, especially when they’re as absolutely adorable as our Rental of the Week, a large Nolita studio right on Mulberry Street between Prince and Spring. What a location to call home!

Best feature: There’s a lot more to love about this sweet studio than just its epic location. Look at the adorable house-shaped archway! And those charming tin ceilings! The sleeping space feels like a proper bedroom, albeit without a door, and the big eat-in kitchen with built-ins provides a lounging area for a sense of separation. Two large and sunny windows overlook Mulberry Street and provide plenty of natural light. Heat and hot water are included in the rent, and the building even has a back garden to relax in when the weather is nice.
Why it’s a deal: A location like this doesn’t come cheap. According to the most recent StreetEasy market report, the median asking rent in Nolita is $3,895 per month. The median rent for a studio apartment in neighboring SoHo is $2,850, and in the Village it’s $2,995. So this Nolita studio is a relative bargain for the area, below average by at least $250 per month.

Biggest drawback: There’s the little issue of the bedroom not having a door, of course. But that archway is arguably better! The kitchen doesn’t seem very slick, either, so if high-end appliances are your thing, this might not be the place for you. And alas, there will be a few stairs to climb, as this is a walk-up building.
