There are plenty of reasons to love Williamsburg: its waterfront parks, cultural events, numerous shops and restaurants, proximity to Manhattan… we could go on and on. One thing we don’t love? Its price tags, which are among the highest in Brooklyn. But there are still deals in the neighborhood, if you know where to look. Take, for instance, our Deal of the Week at 133 Conselyea St. #3F. This 2-bedroom apartment has lots of closet space and is located just off of Graham and Metropolitan Avenues.
The median asking price of a home in Williamsburg was $1.3 million this January, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That puts our Deal of the Week at about half the median asking price for the neighborhood!
Buyers who stick with the minimum 20% down payment of $139,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $3,642. This includes a mortgage payment of $2,860, common charges of $225, and monthly taxes of $557. It’s also lower than the median asking rent in Williamsburg, which sat at $3,795 in January.
This is a true 2-bedroom apartment, meaning each bedroom has its own window and closet. In fact, each room has plentiful closet space, with a double-wide closet in one bedroom and two closets in the other! Each room also features a large, south-facing window for plenty of light throughout the day.
The unit features finishes such as hardwood floors and granite countertops. You’ll also find stainless steel appliances, cherry wood cabinetry, and a unique tile backsplash in the kitchen, which is open to the rest of the living area.
You have several options when it comes to making this apartment to your liking. First of all, it can come furnished. Secondly, the bedroom walls are nonstructural, so you could turn it into one big airy unit if you wanted to, or a 1-bedroom unit.
The building is located only a block away from both Graham and Metropolitan Avenues, both lined with great eateries and bars like Carmine’s, Hummus Market, and Sage. The L train at Graham Avenue is less than 500 feet away for an easy commute to Manhattan. Plus, the building has a laundry room and package room.
While this unit is a true 2-bedroom apartment, it’s not the most spacious at only 550 square feet. It also seems there’s no elevator in the building, although the unit is only three floors up. Plus, the only windows in the unit are in the bedrooms; the living and dining spaces don’t get any natural light except through the bedroom doors. And keep in mind that the second bedroom is staged as a living room in the listing.
However, if you’re looking for a unit in the heart of Williamsburg, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better price!
