Music Mogul Clive Davis Lists $7.8M Ritz Tower Duplex

After a symphonic effort that brought together two separate units inside the Ritz Tower, music impresario Clive Davis is looking for the final note. The chief creative officer at Sony Music Entertainment and champion of musical legends from Whitney Houston to Barry Manilow has listed the combined co-op for $7.8 million.

As first reported by the Wall Street Journal, Davis has been a long-time resident at the Emery Roth building at 465 Park Avenue, where he has lived in a penthouse for the past 28 years. But when his son and family were looking for a place to live in the building, Davis combined a 13th-floor unit he purchased for $1.925 million with a 14th-floor unit he had bought for $1.475 million.

After a two-year renovation project, the 84-year-old had clearly orchestrated a phenomenal new duplex with the help of interior designer Greg Schriefer. By then, however, plans changed and Davis’s family no longer needed the residence. Hence the decision to sell.

Unit #14A is now a 7-room duplex that contains 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with views facing Park Avenue.

The unit features five different central heating and air condition zones; custom Skyline tilt-and-turn windows; Italian marble windowsills and Sonos surround sound with Episode speakers throughout — because, of course, it matters that the sound system was perfect.

The living and dining rooms open to a chef’s kitchen equipped with a full suite of GE Monogram appliances.

All three bedrooms contain en-suite baths and the master suite is outfitted with a generous master bathroom with travertine plank floors. Downstairs, each thoughtful bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom featuring travertine wall tiles and glass dual-vanity sinks and an over-sized walk-in shower.

A separate enclosed washer/dryer area is off the downstairs landing.

The Ritz Tower is a luxurious Emery Roth residential cooperative built in 1926 and offers white glove service. Building amenities include a gym and storage units. Dining options available from the Ritz Tower private kitchen.

The building is pet-friendly with electricity included in monthly maintenance costs. And you never know: Maybe you’ll bump into Aretha Franklin or Bruce Springsteen in the elevator should any of Davis’s most famous discoveries come calling.
