The median asking price for a home in Crown Heights was $999,000 this February, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That means our Deal of the Week is priced more than $400,000 under the median asking price for the neighborhood!
Buyers who choose the 20% minimum down payment of $122,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $3,768. This includes a mortgage payment of $3,136, common charges of $317, and monthly taxes of $315.
There’s lots we love about this unit, but the kitchen definitely stands out on top. The orange cabinetry is super cool without being too out there, and is perfectly complemented by he dark countertops and white backsplash. A full set of stainless steel appliances — including a dishwasher — makes cooking and cleanup a breeze. The washer/dryer is also tucked away in the kitchen, so you don’t have to worry about trudging to and from the laundry room. The breakfast bar also provides a perfect place to eat, entertain, and prepare food.
We also love the amount of storage in this condo. There’s one closet in the entryway and another closet in the bedroom. The bathroom also has some storage space in its floating vanity, medicine cabinet, and open shelving. Speaking of the bathroom, we love the tiling and colors used in the space, plus the tub and shower combo!
The bedroom is large enough for a king-sized bed plus additional furniture and has an oversized window facing east. In the living room, the windows cover a whole corner so you can get light from both the east and the north. There’s another north-facing window in the kitchen, so you’ll never be far from natural light!
This condo is located in a 2015-built elevator building with a shared rooftop deck. The building also has parking available for rent for an additional fee. It’s located just a few blocks north of the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park, so you’ll be able to get lots of green space and culture without hitting the train. But when you do need some transit, you’re in luck, as the condo is near S, A, C, 2, 3, 4, and 5 stops. Just down the street on Franklin Avenue, you’ll find countless restaurants and bars including Chavela’s, Barboncino Pizza, and Franklin Park.
Like most New York 1-bedrooms in this price range, this condo might be a bit small for some buyers. It’s also in a new building, which is great in terms of amenities, but might not be everybody’s go-to aesthetic. Otherwise, it’s hard to find things to nitpick about this place, especially considering its price and features!
