Learn more about our Deal of the Week!
The median asking price for a home in Clinton Hill was $1.2 million this March, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That means our Deal of the Week is priced under half the median asking price for the neighborhood!
Buyers who put down the 20% down payment of $110,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $3,641. (Note that the building only requires a 10% down payment.) This includes a mortgage payment of $2,810 and a maintenance fee of $831 — not bad by NYC standards. It’s also under the median asking rent in Clinton Hill, which was $3,913 this March.
Enter this unit through the chef-style kitchen, which has been thoughtfully renovated with sage green cabinetry, a tile backsplash, and full-size appliances. There’s even a dishwasher! The open kitchen is flooded with light thanks to the south-facing wall-to-wall windows in the open living area.
In addition to the new cabinetry, the unit boasts gorgeous new white oak hardwood floors, new baseboards, and a fresh coat of paint. There are also custom closets in the bedroom. The bedroom is plenty big as is — it can fit a king bed, with room to spare for a desk — but an additional dressing area separating it from the living area adds even more square footage. There’s another closet in the dressing area, too.
Take note of the central air conditioning, which is sure to be your saving grace during the hot summer months!
This apartment is located in Willoughby Walk, a full-service co-op building on a quiet, tree-lined street. It’s well equipped with 24-hour security, common laundry, an elevator, bike storage, and even private parking (which has a waitlist). The building is also pet-friendly!
Location-wise, the building is situated just a few blocks from Fort Greene Park and just north of the Pratt Institute. There are lots of great restaurants on nearby Myrtle Avenue, plus a grocery store and numerous coffee shops.
There isn’t a lot to dislike here, but as with most 1-bedrooms in New York, it’s on the smaller side. You’re not going to be able to fit a six-seat dining set in the living room, for instance. Unfortunately, the unit is also on the ground floor, so you might get some street noise. Lastly, the G is the only subway line nearby, although there are plenty of buses.
If you’re looking to buy in Clinton Hill, be sure to shortlist this one!
