The West Village has earned a high-profile status when it comes to NYC neighborhoods. Quaint streets, cute cafes, and tons of history and culture make it one of the most sought after areas in Downtown Manhattan. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still bargains to be had, though: Our Deal of the Week, 204 W. 10th St. #19, is a true West Village 2BR with 1.5 baths, closet space to spare, a stellar location and a price that made us do a double-take.
The median asking price for a 2-bedroom apartment in the West Village is $2,750,000. That puts our Deal of the Week at a full $2 million less than the median asking price for the nabe!
Buyers who put down the 20 percent minimum downpayment of $149,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $3,750. This includes a mortgage payment of $2,911 and a maintenance fee of $839.
As we mentioned before, this apartment is a real 2-bedroom, with a closet, at least one window and room enough for a queen-size bed in each room — quite rare to find in NYC on a budget.
Not only that, but there are also two bathrooms! A full bath is accessed from the living room, close to the bedrooms, and there’s a windowed powder room right off of the entryway for guests. Both are outfitted in white for a clean, polished look.
The living room’s large window lets in plenty of light and offers views of gardens and sky; there’s also a closet off the living room that’s perfect for coats, linens or cleaning supplies. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, lots of cabinet space and another large window.
The pre-war co-op building allows co-purchasing, pied-à-terre use, parents buying and subletting, and the location is five-star-worthy. It’s just a quick walk to the Christopher Street 1 stop, and the A, C, E, B, D, F and M trains are all just a few more blocks away. Plus, so many restaurants, shops, theaters and bars — including the historic Stonewall Inn — are right nearby.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this apartment is unfortunately on the fourth floor of a walk-up building.
Additionally, like so many NYC apartments, it is on the smaller side. And, sadly, there’s no laundry in sight (though there are several laundromats and laundry services in the neighborhood).
But if you’re looking for two bedrooms and a guest bath in an unbeatable location — and, really, who isn’t? — this is one to bookmark!
