east village studio

Our Rental of the Week is small in size but big in style.

Now that the city is starting to reopen post-COVID, being in the middle of the action feels like a real possibility again. (Hooray! Action!) And no neighborhood puts you there quite like the East Village. Our Rental of the Week is an East Village studio with big, bright windows, a great kitchen, and awesome amenities. Take a look!

Address: 101 Ave. D #5J

Price: $2,000

Size: studio

Neighborhood: East Village

Best feature: This studio is in the Arabella 101, a boutique luxury building with the amenities to match. Tenants get access to a full gym, a laundry room, a games/recreation room, and a fabulous rooftop terrace that has absolutely killer views. Not bad for $2K a month!

Inside, big windows provide plenty of natural light. The bathroom boasts stylish tile, and and the kitchen is so spacious you’ll forget it’s in a studio, with Caesarstone counters, tons of storage space, and slick stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher.

Why it’s a deal: The median rent a for an East Village studio apartment is $2,200, which puts this Avenue D perch $200 per month below average for the neighborhood. It’s even more of a bargain when compared with studios in Manhattan overall, which average $2,500 per month.

Biggest drawback: Avenue D is near the East River, but far from the subway. It’s more than a half-mile to the nearest train, which is the L, and the 6 is nearly a full mile west. And the low rent is net-effective based on two months free — still a solid deal, but not quite as low as it seems at first glance. Regardless, this is one sweet studio, and a great opportunity to get a foothold in the East Village.
