The median asking price of a home in the East Village was $1.3 million this August, according to the StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That puts our Deal of the Week just a bit over half the median asking price for the neighborhood!

A wooden archway leads to the open kitchen and living area, which is outfitted in exposed brick walls, wood paneling, and exposed ceiling beams that give the place more of a cabin-in-the-woods feel than a downtown Manhattan vibe, but we’re here for it! The kitchen includes a gorgeous tiled peninsula that would work perfectly as a breakfast bar or food prep station. This room also houses the in-unit, stacked washer and dryer.
The living area features four oversized windows along one wall facing northeast. However, the 11 total windows in this apartment cover all four exposures, so you’ll get a little of every kind of light. The living area has a nook that could easily accommodate a dining table.
The largest bedroom can fit a king-sized bed in addition to other furniture. Plus, it has a walk-in closet, currently outfitted as a work-from-home area — which works well considering the closet’s two windows. The second bedroom has ample built-in storage.
Located in a pet-friendly building in heart of the East Village, this apartment has easy access to Tompkins Square Park and East River Park, in addition to the beautiful 6BC Botanical Garden. Great restaurants and bars like Bobwhite Counter, San Loco, and Kafana are all within a few blocks as well. Co-purchasing, pied-a-terres, gifting, and guarantors are all allowed.
Unfortunately, this unit does have pretty high maintenance fees, and is located on the third floor of a walk-up building. It may need some renovations depending on how modern your taste is, and it’s more than a half mile away from any subway lines. Although the primary bedroom does have a walk-in closet, the mirrored partition separating it from the living room is a temporary wall. The second bedroom is also on the smaller side.
