The surf’s up in Far Rockaway, where some lucky lottery winners may snag one of 113 apartments, some with ocean views.
A brand-new affordable housing development called Beach Green Dunes II in Far Rockaway will offer apartments ranging from as little as $331 for a studio up to $1,910 for 3-bedroom unit. Eligible applicants have to earn between 30 percent and 100 percent of the area median income to qualify, but this represents a very large berth for qualifying for these units.
Located at 45-19 Rockaway Beach Blvd., the new development is a green-living residential development from L&M Developers set in a redeveloping section of Far Rockaway near stores, restaurants, beaches and the A subway lines and many bus lines. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 17, 2019. After the deadline, applications are selected for review through a lottery process and if selected, applicants will be invited to an interview to continue the process of determining eligibility.
