It’s easy to see why these five apartments charmed the hearts and minds of New York shoppers. Great locations, interesting interiors, and decent values made these apartments the five favorite listings of July 2019. Let’s take a look.
This fabulous duplex penthouse asking less than $1 million attracted more than 300 saves, easily landing in the top spot for July. It’s a 725-square-foot co-op with open living space, and it includes two private rooftop decks. The fun layout has an open staircase to a loft that can be used as an office, guest room or even a second bedroom. At time of publication, this place is still available! Listing by Glenn Davis of Douglas Elliman.
The second-most popular listing is this serene Chelsea 1-bedroom, which has a fabulous location close to the West Village and Meatpacking District. It has a low monthly maintenance fee ($495), an adorable community courtyard and the building allows pets. Other amenities include laundry and additional basement storage. In terms of value, this little gem is going for half the median asking price for the neighborhood ($1,095,000). Listing by David Rossman of Eastpointe Residential.

The uptown location didn’t dissuade more than 125 people from saving this place as a favorite, perhaps due to its low monthly maintenance fees ($664) and liberal policies, including use as a pied-à-terre and the ability to copurchase and keep pets. It’s a sweet space awash in white, with the desired split-bedroom layout. Listing by Bruce Robertson of Compass.
Plenty of sales have been brokered this year in this full-service building in the desired East 60s, and after a $46,000 price drop and change in brokerages, this pleasant 1-bedroom attracted a parade of potential buyers. Gifting, guarantors, copurchasing, pets and pied-à-terre use are all allowed, as well as flexible subleasing. Jeremy V. Stein of Sotheby’s is the listing agent.
Fifth and final on the list is this magazine-quality 3-bedroom that turns entire walls into floor-to-ceiling windows, flooding the space with light. And if you need more space, there’s a large, private terrace with plenty of room for furnishings and a grill. This is a bit over the median asking price of $907K for the neighborhood, but it’s a heck of a space with high-end appliances and finishes. Jessica Peters holds the listing for Douglas Elliman.
