Hudson Yards Tower Opens Lottery for Waiting List; Units From $613

An affordable housing lottery is looking to add 840 eligible applicants to a waiting list for a Hudson Yards-area rental building. Located at 505 W. 37th St., the 835-unit rental tower offers affordable apartments at a considerable discount from market rates. The requirement for applicants to this Hudson Yards lottery is that each household must earn at 40 percent of the area median income.

That range includes single households with incomes between $22,903 and $26,720, and up to $38,169 for four-person households. Rents will be $613 for a studio; $659 for a 1-bedroom apartment, and $801 for a 2-bedroom unit.

505 W. 37th St. is a 44-story rental tower built in 2009. It offers a park-like terrace and views of the Hudson River, Empire State Building, and other Manhattan landmarks. A gym and parking are on-site.

To apply online, visit NYC Housing Connect. To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to: 505 W. 37 St. Apartments, PO Box 1543, New York, NY, 10159.
