New Long Island City Housing Lottery Offers 33 Units From $2,241

A new Long Island City housing lottery is offering 33 rental units ranging in size from studios to 3-bedrooms for as little as $2,241 per month for a studio. Qualified applicants must earn between $76,835 for a single person and $172,120 for a family of five; see details below.

The units are in the new One LIC rental development, a 110-unit, 20-story building adjacent to the Queensboro Plaza transit hub in Long Island City. Lottery winners will pay $2,362 for a 1-bedroom, $2,849 for a 2-bedroom, and $3,283 for a 3-bedroom.

Building amenities include a 24-hour doorman, package room, residents’ lounge, laundry room, bike storage, and more, though some are subject to a fee.

The two market-rate units in One LIC now listed on StreetEasy are a 1-bedroom asking $3,162 per month and a 3-bedroom with patio asking $4,980. Both prices are net-effective based on one and a half months free; neither has a broker’s fee.

Qualified applicants for the housing lottery should apply online at NYC Housing Connect. The deadline to apply is June 9, 2020.
