Lottery Now Open for Brooklyn's 250 Ashland Place

Feeling lucky? Then toss your hat into the latest affordable housing lottery ring — this one being in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene.

Today, it was announced that renters can apply for one of 282 “affordable” rent-stabilized apartments at 250 Ashland Place, a 52-story full-service rental tower in Brooklyn’s Cultural District. Moderate, middle- and low-income apartments will be available for eligible households and applicants who make between $28,835 to $200,400 a year. Apartment types include studios to three bedrooms.

“250 Ashland Place is a unique opportunity for eligible middle-income New Yorkers to live in subsidized rent-stabilized housing in a new luxury rental building in a terrific location,” said Melissa Pianko, executive vice president of development for Gotham Organization, the developer of 250 Ashland.

Just like the overflow of applicants for other lotteries, 250 Ashland is expected to attract tens of thousands of applicants as well. The lottery ends on April 11, 2016, so apply here!

In addition to the 282 affordable units, the tower will also have 304 market-rate units. Amenities include central air, plank hardwoods, granite countertops, dishwashers and washer/dryers (in two- and three-bed units), 24-hour attended lobby, fitness center, playroom, resident lounge, concierge, bike storage and laundry in building.

250 Ashland Place is a block from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and one half-mile from Barclays Center. Eleven subways lines are nearby (B,C,D,N,Q,R,2,3,4,5,G), as well as Atlantic Terminal, which also has access to the LIRR.
