Update, January 21, 2020: Meryl Streep’s Tribeca penthouse has sold! The stunning home, which occupies a full floor at the River Lofts building on Laight Street, sold for $15.8 million — a few million below the most recent asking price of $18.25 million. Even so, it’s a price fit for a star, and they don’t come any bigger. Congratulations!

Even Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep isn’t immune to the NYC luxury market slowdown.

Streep listed her stunning Tribeca penthouse last August for $24.6 million after she and her husband, the sculptor Don Gummer, made plans to relocate to Southern California. But even a price cut to $19.75 million in October didn’t help the sumptuous property find a buyer, and it was removed from the market last month.

Now Streep’s penthouse is back: This week, she relisted the 4-bedroom, 3,944-square-foot unit for $18.25 million, according to the Wall Street Journal — some 26% below her original asking price.

Just like its famous seller, the 4-bedroom condo comes with a sense of effortless elegance, with a wraparound terrace and stunning views of the Hudson River. The new listing comes includes new photos, but the older ones, included below, give more of a sense of the place as Streep and her family kept it.

The floor-to-ceiling windows and the gorgeous indoor plantings upped the apartment’s organic, easygoing atmosphere. There is no shortage of style here, but one of the two master bathrooms is in a class of its own, with a clawfoot tub, large fig trees and an epic view.

Streep’s style shone in the sitting room off the master suite, with its mix of antiques, tapestry-like rugs and an amazing chaise lounge. Can’t you just imagine Streep reclined here reviewing scripts?

Unfortunately, her furnishings are not included with the apartment. Nor was her sunhat, pictured below. The epic walk-in closet, however, is part of the deal.
