Boys will be boys, but in the case of celebrity designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, boys who can design incredible interiors of a co-op are really the envy of the Greenwich Village real estate market.
Berkus, 44, and Brent, 30, are no strangers to wheeling and dealing, but their penthouse duplex project is a headturner. The 2,800-square-foot unit they’ve owned since 2013 has been reconfigured to allow for maximum practical and aesthetic bang. That includes space filled with natural sunlight, a splendid chef’s kitchen, terrace and a walk-in closet fit for two. The master suite used to have an attached office, but with the addition of their daughter, Poppy, the Berkus/Brent clan converted the room into a nursery.
The penthouse sits atop the elegant prewar co-op designed by Emery Roth, and now boasts a completely tasteful modern flair, courtesy of the famous husband & husband design team.
Design sensibilities feature a black, white and gold palette throughout — even the bathroom offers gold-finished fixtures. Now, who could get away with gold finishes except for The Donald and this couple? Right — no one.
