From 2013 to 2017, pop superstar Rihanna made her New York City home at this 4-bedroom duplex penthouse at Lafayette and Howard streets. She reportedly paid a hefty $50,000 per month for this stylish setup, and it has been on and off the market ever since. As reported by the New York Post, the ultra-posh home is now officially back on the market! It’s true: Rihanna’s former NYC apartment, penthouse A at 129 Lafayette Street, was listed on January 17 by Dana Power at Corcoran, asking $15.95 million — an even $1 million less than its previous asking price.
If you’ve ever tried to imagine what the lives of the rich and the famous are like, take note. This 7,000-square-foot apartment spans two floors and offers some of the best views in the city. From its 2,400-square-foot wraparound terrace, you can take in the Empire State Building, the glimmering tower of 432 Park Avenue, and all of Downtown Manhattan.
The interiors keep up with the the views. There’s a massive living area with a wood-burning fireplace, a chef’s kitchen, a media room with a dry bar, and a dramatic floating staircase.
Although there are four private bedrooms, the master suite clearly takes the cake, offering more views of the Empire State Building, a dressing room, and a huge walk-in closet. We’re dying to see what’s hanging in there. The master bath is suitably epic, with a glass-enclosed double shower and a six-foot tub. Riri isn’t too big, but her friends might be. You never know.

Always ahead of the trend, Rihanna moved into the 12-story loft building just before the neighborhood exploded. In the last five years, this little nexus between Chinatown, SoHo and Little Italy has become a draw for Downtown A-listers and design hunters.
The area is full of trendy boutiques, cool coffee shops, and other celebs, such as Jonah Hill, who used to live around the corner on Howard Street.
Without Queen Ri, what will become of the flashy scene in these parts? Let’s just say, forget it, folks. It’s Chinatown.
