Why it’s a deal: This place offers serious savings when compared to median prices for both the West Village and Manhattan. Its $2,800 asking rent is $995 below the neighborhood median for units of this size, and $450 below the Manhattan median of $3,250.

Biggest drawback: The apartment is definitely small and short on natural light. The biggest windows are in the bedroom, and those look out on a brick wall. But, hey, isn’t it all about what’s behind the brick wall, anyway?
