In 2019, StreetEasy launched the Experts program. The program connects eager buyers and sellers to qualified real estate agents with hyper-local expertise, known as Experts. Experts are matched with buyers and sellers searching for buildings, neighborhoods, or property types in which the agent has prior deal history or highly relevant experience.
There is no additional cost for agents to participate in the program. If an Expert connects with a buyer through the program and successfully closes on a home, the Expert pays StreetEasy a Success Fee – a tiered percentage based on the final closing price.
The role of an Expert is that of any real estate agent, but with the added specialized knowledge of buying and selling in New York City – down to the neighborhood, building, or apartment.
Experts know their stuff, but for even the most seasoned agents, NYC buyers can be a challenge. Focus group research shows they desire control over the process, want to act fast and decisively, and have other resources at their disposal (like StreetEasy, for instance). As a result, many of them believe they don’t need a buyer’s agent at all, or wait until later in their homebuying journey to bring one on. For first-time buyers especially, it can be difficult to convey all the necessary information – steps for buying in NYC, key terminology, estimated closing costs, co-op vs. condo, etc. – in an easy-to-digest manner. That’s where the Experts Resource Center comes in.
The Experts Resource Center is your home for content that will aid you in being the best Expert you can be. It’s your centralized, organized hub for resources to help you help your clients, from nurture to close. It’s expert advice, created by and for Experts.
The resources come in three categories: Guides, Handouts, and Scripts. Guides are robust yet succinct overviews of best practices for Experts to follow for the utmost success. Handouts are meant directly for clients and explain important NYC real estate concepts for buyers to know. Scripts contain actual scripts Experts can follow during phone conversations with clients or when sending text messages, emails, or voicemails.
