A huge housing lottery has launched at 15 Hudson Yards that will bring 107 affordable apartments to the newly redeveloped area of West Chelsea. Rising 88 stories over 11th Avenue, 15 Hudson Yards was one of the first buildings to break ground and top out in the super-development. It is also one of the most visually striking buildings in the area — featuring an entirely glass facade and four abutting cylindrical towers. The internationally-celebrated architecture firm Diller Scofidio +Renfro is behind the master plan for the building along with the Rockwell Group.

Planned building amenities are swanky —  including a full-time doorman, communal outdoor space, a stunning roof deck with views of the Hudson River, a swimming pool, gym, yoga studio and media room. The location offers direct access to all the shiny, new perks of living in Hudson Yards including The Shed performance space, the Vessel and a slew of new designer stores and fancy restaurants.

How to Apply for the 15 Hudson Yards Housing Lottery

Sales for market rate condos in the building began two years ago, with asking prices ranging from $1.95 million to $32 million. Of the total 285 units in the building, 107 units have been designated as affordable, and will be available to renters earning between 50 and 60 percent of the area median income. Rents will start at $858 and range to $1,350, depending on unit size and the applicant’s income level. See the chart below for a breakdown of apartment size and income qualifications.

Applicants who are municipal employees or current residents of Manhattan Community Board 4 will receive special preference, as will applicants with disabilities impacting their mobility, vision and hearing.
