A new East Harlem housing lottery is offering 70 rental units at 158 East 126th Street, ranging in size from studios to 2-bedrooms, for as little as $1,023 per month for a studio.
Qualified applicants must earn at one of two household-income levels: Either between $38,400 for a single person and $73,680 for a family of five, or between $70,423 for a single person and $159,640 for a family of five. See commensurate rents and unit sizes in the chart below.
The apartments being offered are in 158 East 126th Street, known as “The Smile” for its curved shape. It was designed by famed Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and features impressive amenities, including a 24-hour concierge, a fitness center, a game room and social lounge, and even a rooftop pool.
