A palatial penthouse that was once home to Hollywood royalty Demi Moore and Bruce Willis has just hit the market, for the princely sum of $50 million.

One of two tower penthouses in the Upper West Side’s legendary San Remo building, the three-story residence was purchased by Moore and her former husband way back in 1990, when they were still practically newlyweds. (If you’re wondering why the Central Park West building is so legendary, consider that the other tower penthouse is owned by Bono, who bought it from none other than Steve Jobs.) Moore sold it in 2017 for $45 million, so the current owner, who is anonymous, is hoping to flip it for quite a tidy profit.

And why not? It boasts 6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths in a whopping 8,000 square feet of interior space, and that’s to say nothing of the outdoor space: How does 1,500 square feet of wraparound terrace grab you? There are dazzling skyline and river views in every possible direction, from both inside and out, and inhabitants will enjoy a year-round bird’s-eye view of Central Park in its glorious entirety.

The first floor of the triplex comprises a living room, library, dining room, and large eat-in kitchen with breakfast nook. A graceful wood staircase curves up to the second floor, which houses the master suite plus four additional bedrooms, three bathrooms and a “staff room.” The tower’s true crown, the third floor, is a one-of-a-kind “great room” with twin rows of double-height windows and French doors leading out to the terrace; it also contains a mezzanine level with a home office, bedroom/game room and full bath. The listing agent, J. Roger Erickson of Douglas Elliman, describes this spectacular home as “one of Manhattan’s greatest trophy penthouses,” and honestly, it’s hard to argue with that.

While this certainly qualifies as one of New York City’s most expensive listings, it remains to be seen whether the seller will be able to fetch the full asking price. After all, even Demi Moore herself had to reduce her first asking price: She initially hoped to get $75 million, an “indecent proposal” even for the rich and famous.
