With a revolutionary address under its belt, the newest affordable housing lottery has been announced in the Bronx. The development is High Hawk at 1776 Boston Road in Crotona Park East and 72 newly constructed apartments will be available via lottery system for qualified applicants. Deadline to apply is Dec. 16, 2016.
Those who earn 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) between $28,355 and $63,060 can apply for apartments that range from studios ($788/month rent) to three-bedrooms ($1,182/month rent).
Those who earn 100 percent of AMI can apply for one-bedrooms ($1,208/month rent), two-bedrooms ($1,458/month) and three-bedrooms ($1,683/month).
Additionally, a percentage of units is set aside for: Mobility-disabled applicants (5%) and vision- or hearing-disabled applicants (2%) and preference for a percentage of units goes to residents of Bronx Community Board 3 (50%) and municipal employees (5 percent).
See chart below: Amenities for residents include: On-site resident manager, security cameras, bicycle storage, parking (additional fee), on-site laundry (additional fee), community room, and outside recreation area. The building is convenient to the 2/5 train and busses BX11, BX19, BX21, BX 36.
DPG Group is developing the project. The building is being constructed through the New Housing Opportunities Program (NewHOP) of the New York City Housing Development Corporation and the Mixed Income Rental Program (MIRP) of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
