Lenny Kravitz Puts His Groove on The Kent

Are you going to go Lenny Kravitz’s way? If so, then maybe you have to consider buying a condo unit at The Kent. The brand-new residential building at 200 East 95th Street in Yorkville is set to welcome newcomers to its amenity-packed interiors. That includes a music studio designed by none other than the rock-steady music man. Too bad the grand opening of The Kent and his cool music room comes as Kravitz is mourning the death of his friend and musical collaborator, Prince.

The Sound Lounge, designed by Kravitz, is a 775-square-foot emporium for the inner musician in everyone. Outfitted with piano, drums and amps, this has to be one of the first buildings to offer such an enticing playroom for residents. The room is studded with flat-screens and speaker systems that make it suitable for movie viewing and dance parties.

The Kent, developed by Extell, features 83 units in the 23-story building designed by Beyer Blinder and Belle, with interiors by designer Alexandra Champalimaud. So far, nine units are shown as available for sale on The Kent website. The smallest unit, at 1,293 square feet, is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit that is listed for sale for $2.47 million. A 5-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom unit is priced at $9.145 million.
