New York City is a place of endless discoveries. To show it all off, we’re excited to announce #StreetEasyFinds. Share your NYC finds with us on Instagram: Photos of homes, views, neighborhoods, or anything you’d like, and we’ll share our favorites. Each month, we highlight the work of one of our favorite NYC photographers as they share their #StreetEasyFinds with us. Today, we’re pleased to introduce Diogo Paulo, a photographer originally from Portugal who now lives in Greenpoint. He uses his Canon 5D Mark IV to capture the beauty of the city.
NAME: DIOGO PAULO // ACCOUNTS: @DIOGRAFIC
FROM: PORTUGAL // ACCOUNT EST: 2014
ACCOUNT BEGINNINGS:
The first time I came to New York, everything felt like a movie. I started to take photos so I could register that moment of my life. Cities and landscapes are the sort of content I’ve always felt more inspired with. I really like the feeling of almost hearing what’s going on in a picture — the noise in a place, or just the silence.
FAVORITE SPOTS TO PHOTOGRAPH IN NYC:
I feel like NYC is a very seasonal city. It looks beautiful overhead during the whole year, but the parks are magic during spring and fall. And then there are all the lights during Christmas, and the candid look of streets when it’s snowing. But I would say top views are always my favorites to photograph.
DIOGO LOVES NYC BECAUSE:
There’s so much to love here. The energy that makes me want to do more, the stories, the diversity, the opportunities.
DREAM CITY OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK:
When I visited Tokyo two years ago, I really felt I could live there for a while.
