New York City is a place of endless discoveries. To show it all off, we’re excited to announce #StreetEasyFinds. Share your NYC finds with us on Instagram: Photos of homes, views, neighborhoods, or anything you’d like, and we’ll share our favorites. Each month, we highlight the work of one of our favorite NYC photographers as they share their #StreetEasyFinds with us. Today, we’re pleased to introduce Dylan Walker, a photographer who went from capturing the landscapes of Colorado to capturing the beauty of NYC.
NAME: DYLAN WALKER // ACCOUNTS: @DYLANWAALKER
FROM: COLUMBUS, OHIO // ACCOUNT EST: 2019
ACCOUNT BEGINNINGS:
My passion for photography started while living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The area was too pretty not to capture. From there, my love for photography started to grow. When I got a job offer here in NYC, I knew I wanted to start capturing the beauty of NYC. I needed somewhere to share my photos, and I was self-conscious about putting myself out there for people to judge. But my girlfriend convinced me, and I am so glad she did.
FAVORITE SPOTS TO PHOTOGRAPH IN NYC:
I love Dumbo! It has incredible views of the city, paired with the unique industrial vibe of the area. I also love shooting in Brooklyn Heights, the West Village, and the Financial District around Stone Street.
DYLAN LOVES NYC BECAUSE:
The people! NYC gets a weird reputation for being unfriendly, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Almost everyone I encounter here is willing to lend a hand. The conversations are never dull, and I always walk away with something from each encounter. The drive and passion people have here is refreshing as well. It is hard to sit still, because people are constantly motivating each other to be better.
DREAM CITY OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK:
There are so many places I dream about living, but if I could only choose one it would probably be Switzerland. I love the snow and am an avid snowboarder, and they have some seriously incredible scenery. The culture is also a huge bonus, along with the food. And the overall sense of happiness people seem to carry with them.
