Michael Hartman

Michael's Backstory and what led him to become a real estate agent in New York. 

Michael studied architecture and landscape planning and design in Southern California. After a few years, he decided to learn everything about fashion photography. He instantly fell in love with the craft. Michael started his career as a commercial fashion photographer in Hollywood, shooting for major catalogs and fashion magazines. In addition, he was one of Calumet Photo’s top photographers, teaching private lighting workshops and developing young talent.

He loved shooting in beautiful Hollywood Hills homes, famous beach houses, and one-of-a-kind case study homes. His favorite architects are Frank Lloyd Wright, Lautner, and Stahl. Michael loves the mid-century modern look and feel. He later purchased and renovated a 1960s Airstream trailer that he towed around LA on photo shoots and drove cross country towing the Airstream, taking photos along the way.

In his spare time, he flipped a few homes in Southern California with a small team and designed the renovations with a mid-century modern flair. After selling his family’s home in Santa Monica, he decided to head to NYC, combining all his passions and skills by getting into real estate.

Michael is a full-time real estate agent at The Corcoran Group in New York. He loves working with his clients from the initial meeting to the closing table. In addition, he has helped multiple repeat clients buy and sell their homes.

Lately, in his spare time, he races sailboats along the Hudson and once a year travels abroad sailing with his good friends. Next stop: Croatia! Michael still loves displaying his photography work in gallery shows across the country and shooting street photography as he travels between his real estate appointments.
