Kaan Sanalan

Kaan has a passion for urban development and real estate since childhood. In 2010, moving from Istanbul, Kaan attended Syracuse University where his passion led him to major in Architecture and minor in Real Estate. At Syracuse, Kaan wrote a thesis called “Civic Composition: An Architectural Solution to An Urban Problem”. The thesis asserts that cities are growing in an inefficient way and the acceleration in pollution and traffic is caused by urban sprawl and the unnecessary use of energy and fossil fuels in modern day cities. The work goes on to explore options for long-term, organized planning that can increase efficiency and work with the environment. After graduating from university, Kaan worked at Omni Architects in NYC as a Junior Architect. After a period of time, he realized that he wanted to work more directly with people and that real estate would be the best place to do that. Over the last 2 years at Citi Habitats as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, Kaan has learned that the best strategy for finding a person the right home is to really connect with them and understand where they are coming from and their lifestyle. With that information and an architecture background he comes up with fast and efficient solutions for their real estate needs. Kaan’s interests not only lie in all aspects of real estate, whether it is residential or commercial but also in development. At the beginning of 2018, he began a venture called “Brokers & Architects” that allows all aspects of the real estate process, from development, architecture to brokerage to work hand in hand, as he feels that the this will create a more cohesive process. Kaan is fluent in Turkish and conversant in Italian, with an end goal of being fluent as he loves Italian culture, design and, especially, their food! Other interests lie in tennis, collecting cognacs, music, reading and his other love, soccer! He plays recreationally and competitively including for charity events.
