Having been personally recruited by Barbara Corcoran, Dennis Colwell began his real estate career in 2003. He would spend the next twelve years excelling as a residential sales broker, repeatedly ranking in the Top 2% of NRT sales producers nationwide, while garnering a stellar track record of accomplishments including a loyal, high-profile clientele. “I’ve built my career through honesty, integrity and having a trustworthy reputation, always going the extra mile.” Dennis then moved on to spend six years serving on the Executive side of the industry, most recently as Director of Sales for over 120 agents. There, he utilized his own valuable lessons and proven success to help build his agents’ careers. When things would go awry, that’s when Dennis would step in to navigate the more challenging parts of the deals. Due to the volume of sales transactions, “I had the luxury of getting a 50-year real estate education in the past six years, and I now look forward to reemerging as a broker with Compass to apply that knowledge and provide my clients an exceptional level of service.” Dennis naturally took to real estate, having grown up around architecture and construction, he developed an understanding of floorplans and honed his discerning eye for interior design and spatial configuration. Throughout his career, his aesthetic vision has helped buyers imagine their dream home coming together while also allowing him to showcase sellers’ properties at their best potential to command the highest price. His clients greatly appreciate Dennis’ knowledge of the process, straightforward approach, skillful negotiation tactics, and genuine dedication to their real estate needs. Known to intertwine a personal flare of sarcasm and humor to keep things lively, Dennis believes in working hard, and playing just as hard. Born and raised in Houston, Dennis was inspired by an entrepreneurial upbringing including parents who build custom homes in Texas. After earning a B.A. in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University, he worked in technology production, which led him to New York in 2000 to work for ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where he was a two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner for his contributions to the show. Dennis loves entertaining friends and enjoying an eclectic variety of music, but when he can find the time, relaxing on a tropical beach of a five-star resort is his favorite way to spend the day.
