Noted architect David Bench of the design firm INCA has transformed a generously-sized prewar one-bedroom apartment into a modern and efficient two bedroom. Beautiful Caeserstone countertops frame the Blanco granite sink, Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and ZLINE stove with Zephyr stainless steel hood. An additional cherry-wood built-in and seating are adjacent to the kitchen window. The handmade green glazed-brick floor tiles are by Fireclay. One of the two bedrooms is accessible from the kitchen through a pocket door. All conventional doors in the apartment were converted to Shaker-style wood pocket doors to optimize the available space.

To the right of the foyer is the beautifully renovated bathroom. You will find green Mexican cement tiles by Rustico, a shower alcove with hand-made Moroccan terracotta tile from Mosaic House, Duravit sink, Toto cast iron deep soaking tub brass fixtures, Robern mirrored medicine cabinet and an Eames towel rack. Then through a pocket door we enter a bedroom with a south-facing window. The second bedroom can be entered from both the first bedroom and the kitchen, and has two exposures
