The 96th Street stop of the 6 train is 1.5 blocks away at Lexington, with transfer to the express 4/5 train at 86th Street. You can often get a seat even at rush hour on the downtown 6 train (good luck with that at 86th Street or below!). It’s also easy to get a cab, and if you hail one on 96th Street (back entrance of the building), you can get either a yellow or green cab. Close to Central Park on the west and the East River Greenway on the east.
