question regarding an offer

Hi, I just made an offer to a place in the upper east side at 94th and lexington. So here is the part I got uncomfortable with. The seller broker calls me and tells me she can get the place for cheaper that means bellow my offer (Corcoran). I always assumed that sellers broker represent sellers best interest. You can withdraw (you don't need to say why). As you haven't signed anything, you are not contractually bound.

thx jess, appreciate the info. still if th broker was straight i would have been happier and went into contract shadiness is costing her this sale.

You should have a lawyer before you sign any purchase document for this or any other property in NYC & you could then discuss this situation with your attorney & decide how to proceed.

santaoct: did you have your own broker and was she trying to get you to go directly thru her and cut your broker out?
