A question. Does a RE broker (I assume not paid salary) show up in the Unemployment numbers?

Do they even qualify for unemployment benefits? You know what I'm leading to with this :)

One of the buyers that outbid me on the GM was a RE broker... so I'm just wondering if the "true" unemployment # in NYC is way way understated.. this coupled with the fact there seems to be a "resident" broker in every apt building in NYC ..... does not bode well for NYC RE that and the fact the "last great white hope" for NYC RE is on a flight outta here :)

partners in law firms don't show up in the unemployment rates either. nor do temporary workers, freelancers, writers, you get my drift. the U3 is a joke under the best of circumstances, today it is laughably inaccurate. and don't get me started on the b/d model, which call for all birth all the time (not January, maybe. one month they give over to death these days, despite the fact that death is all around the employment scene). worse than a sourthern conservative.
