Any info on this condo conversion?
I would be very curious to hear thoughts too!
Here's a link http://www.mns.com/details/176277
and a description:
The building retains much of its original pre-war character in the beautiful brick and limestone exterior and wrought iron details while boasting modern updates such as a virtual doorman, bicycle storage and a state-of-the-art gym. A welcoming and secure wrought iron gated entry leads residents through the landscaped courtyard and into a tastefully furnished marble-clad lobby. Inside, this unit has been designed with high ceilings and an open layout to take full advantage of the greatest luxury of all in Manhattan: space. This expansice apartments feature hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen is outfitted with Hansgrohe fixtures and stainless steel Whirlpool appliances while the bathrooms have tranquil touches such as relaxing sunflower shower heads and recessed medicine cabinets. With historic charm and contemporary amenities, the Strathmore is everything you're looking for.

Isn't 30% of the building rent-controlled? How does that work exactly? New condo units next to dirt-cheap rentals? A bit of a dichotomy, no?
As of last year, 13 of the 28 apartments were rent-stabilized, so unlikely that 30% are rent-controlled.
No matter, though. As with any co-op or condo conversion, the sponsor will continue to own the apartments occupied by non-purchasing tenants. Those tenants don't have their RC/RS status stamped on their foreheads, so no telling who's who.
